Have you wondered how your child is learning reading skills? Do you want to learn more about structured literacy and how language instruction has changed?

Westvale Public School would like to invite parents to a Primary Literacy Night on May 2 from 6 to 7 pm.

We will begin with an overview of Structured Literacy in the Library at 6 pm. Then parents will head to interactive activities / presentations in French and English Language Primary classrooms in 10 minute time slots.

Primary English and French Immersion teachers will give parents the opportunity to engage in:

  • A phonemic awareness lesson
  • Reading primary decodable texts
  • Experiencing standardized phonics testing
  • Tips of how to support reading at home

Please RSVP at https://forms.gle/QaizXp7sNsB1a7YT9 by April 29.

We need to know attendance numbers in order to organize classrooms and learning materials. It is a learning event for parents!
