Over the next two weeks, there are many events happening at Westvale Public School. Here is the list. Read further in the email for detailed explanations of each item.
- Spirit Wear Orders – on sale until Wednesday, November 13 at midnight
- Photo Retake Afternoon – November 14 in the afternoon
- Fall Clothing Swap – November 15 before and after school
- Progress Reports or Initial Observations of Learning (Kindergarten) come home November 18
- School Council Meeting – November 20 6:30 pm in the Library
- School Council Movie Night – November 21- Doors open at 6:15 pm for a 6:30 pm movie start
- Westvale Spirit Wear for 2024-25 is on sale until Wednesday at midnight.

There is a sizing guide link for each item on the website. Orders and payment are online only. A $2 donation will be made to the school for each sold garment.
All orders are due by Wednesday, November 13 by midnight. Items will arrive a few weeks after the deadline. We will notify parents when the items arrive. Please email the school (wsv@wrdsb.ca), if you are planning to give the garment as a gift and we will not distribute it to your child when the merchandise arrives.
- Photo Retake Afternoon- November 14
Students who were absent for the earlier Photo Day will have their photos taken. For families who were unhappy with the previous photo proofs, please make sure you let the classroom teachers know that your child needs to get another photo taken.
- Fall Clothing Swap – November 15 – 8:30-8:55 am and 3:20-5:00 pm in the Multi-purpose Room
All are welcome! Spread the word, we want to share the items we have collected with as many community members as possible and to lessen our environmental impact through this initiative. No donations or money necessary to partake. We want our generous contributions to be shared in our community.Thank you to all the families for the donations last week.
- Progress Reports or Initial Observations of Learning (Kindergarten) will be coming home with students on Monday, November 18.
- School Council Meeting – November 20 6:30 pm
All parents are welcome to attend the School Council meetings. Our next school council meeting is on Wednesday, November 20 starting at 6:30 pm.
- School Council Movie Night – November 21 – 6:30 pm
Westvale School Council is excited to be hosting Movie Night on Thursday November 21 at 6:30 pm. The movie will be shown in the Gym and Multi-purpose Room and will begin at 6:30 pm. Doors open at 6:15 pm. Please feel free to dress in cozy clothes or pajamas, bring a blanket and pillow if you want, and your favorite stuffy for cuddling!
Students voted on a choice of movies last week, and they chose SpongeBob: Sponge on the Run. This movie is an animated adventure comedy. Set before the events of the television series, SpongeBob goes on a trip to Kamp Koral and meets some new friends.When his pet snail Gary gets kidnapped, SpongeBob and his new best friend Patrick must go on a rescue mission to save him before it is too late. The movie will also reveal the first time the characters (as kids) met at Camp…a magical moment that brings meaning to the power of true friendship.
All students, regardless of age must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian throughout the duration of their attendance at the event. Students are to sit with their parents.
Students who are unable to respect movie volumes by ensuring appropriate volumes/quiet chatter or children who are racing around the gym instead of watching the movie will be asked to vacate so others are able to enjoy the film.
Council will supply nut-free popcorn to munch on during the movie. Please bring your own bottled water in a reusable, take home container.
This is a great opportunity for our Westvale students to connect and build community spirit as we enjoy some time together.
