Radlein elected Chair and Waseem elected Vice-Chair

At the Organizational Board Meeting of the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB), Trustees elected Maedith Radlein as Chair and Meena Waseem as Vice-Chair.

Trustee Radlein and Trustee Waseem, are in their first terms as Trustees. Trustee Radlein served as Chair for the past year; this will be Trustee Waseem’s first time serving as Vice-Chair.

“Thank you to my colleagues for their continued confidence in me to serve as Chair,” said Chair Radlein. “I look forward to working alongside Vice-Chair Waseem and all Trustees as we continue our shared commitment to supporting the achievement and well-being of every student we serve. Every decision we make is centred on the needs of our students, staff, parents, families and caregivers, and we remain dedicated to fostering respectful and constructive debate as we work together on their behalf.”

“I am honoured to take on this new role as Vice-Chair and to support Chair Radlein and the work of the WRDSB Board of Trustees,” said Vice-Chair Waseem. “Together, we will continue to focus on advancing student achievement and well-being, supporting our staff, and strengthening connections with parents, families, caregivers and the community.”
